The Bridal Edit 2019

The Bridal edit 2019

Th

Spring is in the air!
And so our heart melts for dreamy Pastels and delicate silks.
For 2019, Blush & Pastels are once again stealing the show. Although we love an ivory lace on any day (wedding or not) we are loving that our brides are mixing it up a little.

We can't think of anything better than lingerie shopping to take your mind off the stress of planning a wedding. Yes, ladies, this is the fun part 💖

To build the perfect bridal trousseau here are a few Tallulah tips, inspired by 15 years of fittings!

Tip n.1 Don't skip the foundations.

Let me explain. What we call foundations here at Tallulah's is the magic that will make your dress fall on your body like it was sown on!
Bridal gowns can be tricky, even if custom made, the fabrics are delicate and the details to make it so special will need the proper lingerie to do her justice. It is always best to bring in a picture of your dress at your fitting so we can help you with your foundations.
Think low cut basques for open back gowns, smoothing high knickers for barely there satin slip dresses, or simply a smooth strapless bra for your bustier look. Foundations are essential.

There is a wide selection of basques available which can be altered to be just perfect for your dress.

Tip n.2 Timing is key

Try not to leave your lingerie fitting to the last minute.
First off, it goes hand in hand with your dress fitting for the foundations.
Make sure you have your lingerie in mind when selecting a style.
We can make magic happen but always better to know what we are working with.
To create the perfect trousseau items may need to be ordered or even made with our bespoke service. We will make sure to get in the right fit or size for you, so it is recommended to book your appointment early on.

Your lingerie will be an important part of your wedding as it is the only thing from the very start to way after the big day and honeymoon that you will wear day after day.

Tip n.3 Your 'getting ready' outfit

We've found over the years that many of our brides will have pictures taken while getting ready in the morning. Those are beautiful memories to catch on film with the bridesmaids, friends & family around you, prepping for the big event.
Even if it is just a few snaps on your iPhone, you will want to cherish that memory forever.
💖
To make these moments perfect, we can help you create a beautiful 'morning of the wedding' look.  Whether you want to be a showstopper in a beautiful antique kimono or prefer the ultimate understated glamour of a delicate silk & lace slip with matching robe, we pretty much have it all!

Tip n.4 Start with your colour palette

As we've said before, the bridal trend is confirming to be more than just ivory! We recommend working from a colour palette rather than just an outfit you had in mind. This way you might stumble upon a few key pieces you would never have thought of trying, and the results are always stunning!

Pastels are hot hot hot and we've got lots to offer from decadent blush, almond green to candy pink and tiffany blues. But maybe darker tones are more your vibe? Think deep navy & magenta silk with delicate black lace for your wedding night...

Tip n.5 Don't forget your pearls!

We cannot say it enough, the Pearl thong is a must.
One of our best selling items here at the boudoir, the pearl thong ticks all the boxes.
It is delicate & pretty in its ivory (or black) lace, has the cheeky factor of massaging pearls AND will complement any lingerie outfit to perfection!
Surprise your future husband with this cheeky item while having dinner on your Honeymoon.
A simple whisper under the table that you are wearing your pearls & just let them do the rest...
we guarantee you will not be having the dessert trolley in the restaurant, instead YOU will be the dessert!

Tip n.6 Be prepared

Make sure you stock up on a few things. Being prepared means less stress on the big day.
Always get extra pairs of hosiery just in case and fresh knickers for the rest of the evening.
Wedding dresses are not always the most comfortable to dance the night away in. If that's the case, maybe ask us about different lingerie options for the second part of the event.
Yes, just as dress change is now a thing, lingerie change can sometimes be essential to have a good time at your reception!

Tip n.7 Have fun!

Remember, this is the fun part! So don't hesitate to try different looks, we are here to help you do just that and are more than happy to show you all the beautiful things we have in the Boudoir.
We'll make sure to give you the full Tallulah Experience 😉

Building your lingerie trousseau doesn't need to be only smooth and shaping. Think about all the dreamy lingerie you will get to wear on your honeymoon.
And how oh so sexy it will be for your partner to see you in your cheeky belt set or glamorous silk gown you've picked out just for the two of you.

Why not finish off your look with the perfect scent? Handmade French Perfume, yes please!
We love love love bridal fittings & take the bridal trousseau very seriously 💘 so we hope those little tips will help you make your day extra special.

When booking your appointment, we recommend making sure you have time to enjoy and not coming in with a crowd so we can fully focus on you & your lingerie wishes.
Clear your schedule, book an appointment on a calm, stress free day
and let Tallulah take care of the rest!
