Summer in the city...

So finally Justin Timberlake has taken the sunshine out of his pocket and put it in the sky for us all to enjoy, well for today and maybe tomorrow anyway!
I love the lighter, almost carefree moods, hearing music wafting through the air and the fact that one can have a Gin and Tonic at any time of the day when it is this hot (sip sip).

My current obsession is still the Simone Perele 'Wish' in Paprika and here is an image of how I 'wish' I could wear it!

This week in the boudoir it has been rather exciting, I have started the swimwear buying for next summer (I know we haven't even had this summer yet right!?) and for once I am actually really excited at what I have seen. As much as I love swimwear, it is not my favourite to buy for Tallulah's loyal customers. I know how important it is to feel confident whilst one is walking around practically naked, I just would much rather be shopping for (myself) stock for the boudoir pieces of pretty Chantilly lace trimmed bras and matching panties or sheaths of silk.  Although I have to say, my heart skipped a beat a couple of times over the last couple of days, so watch this space...but in the meantime he is a little snippet of what I am thinking...

Another exciting thing to happen this week is we had our rather wonderful Photographer Mark Whitfield in shooting some new interior shots of the boudoir. It is always a laugh when Mark is in and typically always gets busy- I think he loves it! Check out his website and Instagram page, he really is a very good Photographer and always so much fun, he manages to capture Tallulah just the way it is, beautiful.

Right now I am prepping for a new Christine Silk order, and as you know Tallulah is very proud and privileged to be the soul European stockist for this Canadian handmade brand. Now if you have 1 (or more) of these amazing silk gowns, you will know what I mean when I say that they are THE most amazing silk gown, slip, nightie, dress - how ever you want to wear it, there is. They are utterly divine. Every very time we sell one to a lucky lady we share the warning, once you have 1 colour you WILL want more... well Christine silk gown ladies, I am in the middle of placing Tallulah's order. If you have a bespoke request, then please get it in to me by the end of the day on Friday. Email with any questions tallulah@tallulah-lingerie.co.uk and I will be sure to help you get your very own bespoke silk gown.
I will be ordering for myself the shorter length that sits below the knee, we sold out of these pretty quick earlier in the year- I'm thinking it will be my Christmas Party Dress. You know what, we have actually sold quite a few in this new length as tango dresses, well dancing dresses- the movement to them is wonderful.

Everyone is writing about the trend Tallulah loves best, the Underwear As Outerwear trend, including this week in The Guardian click on the link and have a little read, then order your bespoke silk Christine gown ;-)

I think my laptop has had enough of the heat so I am signing off. Hope you have enjoyed this blog post!
Lots of Lingerie Love to you, and I hope to see you in the boudoir soon for a little lingerie fix.

Getting beach ready...

Can you believe Easter is in 2 weeks? I can't. Are you escaping and soaking up some precious natural vitamin D? This year has just flown by, well I guess it has not been a 'normal' beginning of the year in Tallulah's world, but it's great being back in the boudoir, my happy place being  surrounded by the gorgeous new spring collections and in particular the new swimwear collections from Seafolly. We have never had this particular Australian swimwear designer in the boudoir, normally we stock the Moontide collections from Australia. It is easily available in department stores and as a rule when buying, I try to have collections and designers in Tallulah that are not so ready available, but last July I just fell in love. From fun and flirty retro red and white polka dots to exquisitely sophisticated chic navy blue. The whole collection is gorgeous and to celebrate Seafolly becoming part of Tallulah's family we are having Prosseco and 10% discount off the Seafolly swim collection this weekend ready in time for any of you lucky lingerie lovers who are off over the Easter break. Whether its a short spa break or a longer family holiday around the pool, we really hope you can make it in to Tallulah either Friday or Saturday for your swimwear fix, chat and of course a drink or 2!

Here is the invite for 18th-19th March.

Below is a little introduction to the collection, starting with the Polka collection, and if you follow on Instagram FaceBook Twitter then you may recognise this one...

Retro style Polka bikini.

Tie-side Polka bikini.

Styles in this collection include the padded bandeau and halter tie tops, high waisted 50s styled briefs or lower waisted with tie sides and a fantastic one piece. The suit is low fronted (but not to low) with a slight shaped pad in the cup that can be removed like the halter tie top in  the bikini.

Below is the floral print of which the base is navy blue. The shapes include a larger cup under-wired bikini top, padded bandeau and one style of bottoms the tie-side.

Here is the collection that I think is my favourite, the simple shape of the top and navy blue colour  plus the fact that this is under-wired and almost just wraps around ones bust looks great, it can be halter neck or a strapless with tie-side briefs. This is the one I will be wearing in Venice this summer, can't wait!

Also in the collection is a padded halter shape- pictured below, and regular briefs that are slightly higher although not as high as the retro style in the Polka dot collection. This shape is great to sit just above a c-section scar as the tie sides may sit a little low, in case one is worried then this is the perfect shape bottoms. A super strapless one piece also in this beautiful navy blue, straps can obviously be added just like all of the bandeau/strapless styles of bikini tops mentioned.

Here it gets a little bight and white! Below is the simple shaped and amazing coral colour bikini. Padded bandeau top with tie-side bottoms, it is also available in chic white.
Imagine either colours with a tan, this coral is just incredible. LOVE IT.

Also within the collection are soft cotton kaftan's. Of course we are still stocking the beautiful silk and beaded kimonos that are great to cover up with when popping to the bar for a cocktail. The kimonos are online to buy always and we have some new colours in the boudoir. We will be offering the 10% off discount to these over the 2 days also (but not online, sorry!) Here are the cotton kaftan's from Seafolly's collection and the top image is the white dress style kaftan.

As you can see, they will sit perfectly over the bikinis and suits.
Also we have a rather elegant black one piece, that I have to say looks amazing with the sheer gold and black silk kimono and big Jackie O style sun glasses.

Looking forward to seeing you and any friends you bring along to the boudoir at the weekend for some swimwear shopping and Prosecco drinking.

New season and new collections, who said lingerie is seasonal...

Buying has started again in the world of Lingerie, we are viewing collections and placing orders for Spring/Summer 2016, just like in the Ready to Wear fashion world, although I do struggle with this concept of Lingerie being seasonal. If you want to wear soft blush in winter, deep gem colours in the summer or florals in the fall why have the fashion world dictate to you whats seasonal for your undergarments. But I do have to follow the rules sometimes and this is one of those times and twice a year I place the vast majority of beautiful lingerie, loungewear, silks and swimwear orders that will scantly decorate the boudoir for the next few months. Although the majority of orders are dealt with like this, every week I place top up orders, and place the customer orders that have been taken that week in the boudoir. Offering this service is what sets Tallulah and other independent lingerie boutiques apart from the big soul-less and life-less department stores who are unable to offer this personal ordering service. Most of the time we have a collection in one colour, but it is available to order in many other colours, so we go through the lookbooks and catalogues with our customers and choose the perfect shade of Chantilly lace to support and look pretty or that will go perfectly under a particular outerwear outfit, making it the perfect foundation wear.
Although the vast majority of the orders are placed twice a year, they do not all arrive in the boudoir at once. I place them in a way that there will always be something new and exciting for our loyal Tallulah customers that visit the boudoir every month, something new to wink at them when they enter and go weak at the knees as they leave with their purple bag sealed with cream ribbon full of lingerie lushness.

In Tallulah this summer from Miss Mandalay and Rosa Faia decorating the boudoir with one of Tallulah's vintage blue suitcases.

Im starting the buying season off with swimwear, I have to admit… not my favourite collections to buy at all. There is no lace, silk or any of the embellishments that make my heart skip a beat when I see the collection for the first time or when it finally arrives into the boudoir, but it is important to have a beautiful well-fitted bikini or sexy and suitable for the occasion swimsuit, lets face it that when prancing around in public wearing practically nothing its best to do this showing off our best features and attributes hence a well cut and great fabric swimwear trousseau. Miss Mandalay is always great for the E cup and above (going to a GG) bikinis, nice under-wired halter tops always with a choice of bottoms and with great prints. For the suit it has to be the fantastic MiricleSuit and with their tag line being (said in an over exaggerated twanged American accent) “Look 10lbs lighter in 10 seconds” who wouldn’t want one of these?! Im thinking of having a glance at the Seafolly collection this season, I know its widely available- as in it can be bought with ease online and from the dreaded department stores, but I’m really quite liking the look of the collection on offer…You will just have to wait and see what choices I make for Tallulah. Every year in the summer I visit some of my dearest friends in one of my favourite places in the world, Venice. They have a rather sexy speed boat, so we go out every day and pitch up at the local beach and just relax. Now as we know the Italians are known for their trendy trend setting fashion ways, so every year I take my ‘boat outfits’ very seriously and make sure I pack a few new bikinis so I know first hand how important a well-fitted swimwear wardrobe is, and if you hadn’t guessed by know, Tallulah is all about me! Below is the house we stay in, its just amazing. The shutters are a similar shade of emerald green to the Simone Perele lingerie set I am about to introduce you to ...

Very excitingly new collections arrived from the gorgeous Simone Perele this week. Mezmerising Emerald lace is the new colour in one of Tallulah’s top selling collections called ‘Celeste’. Infact if you are a regular Tallulah customer, chances are you have had this in at least one of the colours it has been offered in the past. We always have in stock the ivory, black and ’nude’ and due to this collection available in 30 backs it really is a great seller for us.

Another collection to arrive recently is ‘Backstage’ a new one from Simone Perele in the most amazing deep ink navy blue. I really love navy lingerie, it is a great alternative to the traditional black, please do not take that out of context thou, I love black lingerie too! But something about this collection actually makes my heart have a little flutter, it must be something to do with the colour, the embroidery, the shell like scalloping edge and soft fine quilting detail of diamond shapes, it is also available to order in beautiful blush and to me this just puts the 1920s in my mind. It has an unpadded half cup and padded plunge shape bra with a couple of choices on the bottom, then the piece thats makes this collection so special is the deep waist-cincher style suspender belt. I do wish a belt was offered in more lingerie sets. The thing that is particularly great with this belt is that it can be worn as outerwear as a waspie over a dress or 2 piece.

Just look at that beautiful scallop quilted detail and embroidery, finished with a bow in the middle.

Hope you have a wonderfully hot, sticky and sweet week as it looks like that great big golden ball will be in the skies. Be sure to swing by the boudoir to see for your self the beautiful new collections that have arrived this week or to look through any of the look books to place your very own order, chilled water will be served all week, and the boudoir is on the un-sunny side of the street so its always cool for when your ready to strip off! Here is Something sweet from Venice for you to suck on (wink wink).

So until next time, T x
