Love it or hate it, Valentine's Day is just day's away. I know this 'Day of love' divides many people. Who needs a day to say I love you with over priced flowers or eat chocolates on that 1 day, I mean who doesn't eat chocolate most days? or a treat of lingerie. Well with the first 2 I agree but come on any excuse to add to your lingerie collection needs to be embraced I say. So I love St Valentines (or Clinton Cards) for declaring an actual day with the perfect excuse to treat you both. 
Either send your partner in or as I do make yourself be the Valentines present with new silks and lingerie.

Floral printed lingerie and floral laced trimmed silks make the perfect Valentine's present, Flowers and lingerie in one! Then you can eat each other so you don't even need chocolates...

Location Location Location...

A few weeks ago I had a wonderful experience of a location shoot with Holt Harrison.

A beautiful Georgian house in the middle of the British countryside. I took along with me  

a couple of new pieces from the boudoir for Liddie to style and shoot. Below are some images of the day.

Starting off with some of the new colours in the Christine glamour gown. Here is the Ruby  silk with Black lace in the new midi swing length shot in the 'Bird Room'. I love the way Liddie has created movement in the silk in this shot. The image at the top of this blog is also taken in the 'Bird Room', you can see more of the reason why it is named the name it has. The extra large mirror that the Christine gown is drapped on and barbers chair in the corner have a reason to be in here to...

Then we have the Black silk with Mink lace.

Shot in the 'Red Room' in the main part of the house upstairs, here you can see the amount of silk and the beautiful longer length of the gown set against the ruby walls of the bedroom.

Then we have the pretty Blush silk with Mink lace. Look at her just hanging out in the 'Butterfly Bathroom' (which does not just house the antique butterflies, a very big surprise awaits on the floor in here). 

This particular shot Liddie has picked up the detailing of the pleating over the bust. So flattering on the larger bust because of this pleating detail, it opens up like a fan giving great support and shape.

Although I have only had 3 colours photographed on this location shoot, we have more online www.tallulah-lingerie.co.uk -  Mark Whitfield photographed some flatlays for clear shots to see online.

Here we have the Marjolaine silk and lace Baccarat slip. Next room to use was the '4 Poster Room' upstairs, it was flooded with natural light and houses this heavy dark ebony piece of furniture. Liddie styled this with my new Le Labo Santal perfume because I was obsessing over the smell, Liddie styles the images with pieces decorating her house. It is a wonderful collection of antiques that she has collected over the years from across the globe whilst travelling when she modelling full time.

Ok so she also asked to use my jewellery, she needed something delicate to balance with the delicate lace, so off came my rings and sat next to my Le Labo for a more detailed shot.  

Finally we shot the simply gorgeous Maguy de Chadaric Peach silk and Marabou robe and this time in her lounge. It was the perfect piece to finish on as it called the 'Cocktail Collection' we celebrated a very long and hard but incredibly enjoyable day of styling and shooting with a nice Gin and Tonic.

What Liddie of Holt Harrison offers whilst hiring this stunning Georgian house is something quite unique. Liddie has such an eye for detail and gets totally lost in the images whist creating the shot. It is magical and inspiring to watch her work. Her collecting of beautiful pieces over the years all sit perfectly in the heaven of a home and make it literally the most perfect place to shoot almost anything. The barn is a vast modern white space in complete contrast to the main house. The house itself is  surrounded in paddocks, fruit gardens and a secret garden with a log cabin for outside shots, it was just too chilly for us. If you are looking for a location with a difference and with the wow factor (sorry that sounds soooo cheesy) Holt Harrison is the place, look no more.

Have you been fitted recently?

I am not mentioning it, I refuse to except that Staying In is the new going out (I wish).

That's it- the only mention of last weeks shenanigans in this blog post!

Have you been fitted recently? I know every time one of our lovely and wonderful loyal ladies purchase a new bra or 2 from Tallulah they get a fitting, but have YOU been fitted (the ladies who are yet to swing by the boudoir)? You may read that it is advisable to be fitted very 6 months for a bra- personally I feel this statement to be a little exaggerated, and every time one purchases a new bra just be professionally fitted. This could be every 3 months or every year how ever you lingerie shop. We have some customers that shop once a month (or twice, you know who you are true lingerie addicts) and then we have the once a year get it all done in one go shoppers. What ever sort of lingerie shopper you are make sure your fitter sees every bra on you- and I do to mean in a department store (and one in particular who you all know I have massive issues with- I will not say the name again) but in a professionally trained environment, preferably independent (just because us indies need to support each other and spread the love) your breast tissue, posture and outerwear will only Thank you. Once you have been fitted professionally you will know exactly how good a well fitting bra feels, you will be able to feel yourself if your bra really is ill-fitting.

Swing by to be fitted in this gorgeous new colour way of the fabulous 'Wish' collection delivered this week from Simone Perele. At Tallulah we love everything about this collection and in the past we have stocked it in Black, Grey and Blush. If you have had any of the other colours and I know many of you have had all 3- this is a must have addition to  your lingerie collection. I can't decide whether to go for the padded plunge pictured below or the sheer half cup. I have had both shapes and equally love to wear both...

Apart from the obvious reason why we love this collection so much at Tallulah- have you seen the delicate embroidery? and the strap detail?...but the sizes on offer make this one of our best sellers due to the 30" backs and up to F cups. Plus the fit, it has been my main go to this year to fit with on many ladies.

Another new collection arrived this week photographed above and I am wearing it today. I keep it no secret my love of Chantal Thomass and all of her collections that arrive in the boudoir. However, the only complaint (eekkk I know) is that I do wish so very much that we had the same generous sizes to offer like the 'Wish' collection. We never have 30" backs and only ever up to an E cup from C.T. This new collection is named 'Craquante' translated to crunchy- this will be my new Friday set I think! One of the things I totally love apart from the sheer tulle, subtle polka dot and frill on the cup is the knickers, smooth with no seams = no VPL genius! Below is a cheeky shot of me this morning...

And if you follow Tallulah on Instagram you will of seen another selfie of me wearing it to, but with more clothes on this time! I am obsessed with this bra at the moment!

Something one does not need to be fitted for is a silk slip or camisole, and this gorgeous deep green and black leopard print silk camisole from Stella McCartney is a great Underwear As Outerwear piece. Tucked into a sexy pencil skirt or teamed up with denim cut offs, anyway you like it is so easy to wear.

I mentioned 'Wish' a fair few times in these few paragraphs, from lingerie to real events I do wish things turn out differently in all aspects of life. Including the result of last week. 

5 months have gone by (if you are a regular reader of this blog you will know what happened 5 months ago) and this week I really need to cheer myself up with something colourful and lucky enough this arrived just in time...

Finally it feels like Summer in the City!

And on Cross Street we are loving it. The windows in our neighbour Wild Swans are filled with beautifully printed & well cut summer collections, Aesop have a big display in the window launching their new sunscreen- I'm particularly loving the body oils from them at the moment, I'm yet to try the sunscreen, but I'm sure it will be great, love the scents of all the Aesop products- sometimes one can smell them wafting in from across the street into the boudoir.
The newbie on Cross Street, Lost Property have gorgeous hand made leather bags in great summer colours, i love the Coral and Blush leather totes, perfect for 'hot' weekend get aways!

The bright colours woven together wink at me continuously from Tribe opposite, the most amazing hand woven rugs can be found here, also fantastic collections of handmade cushions in the windows in super summer colours and aztec prints.

Im also loving the ethnic prints in Fenton down on Shillingford St, (who by the way is the best Tailor in town, he does all Tallulah's alterations to perfection).

The delis are serving iced-coffees, smoothies and interestingly yummy salads.

We also have a special guest this weekend, Tom Dixon has a pop-up showroom, very excited to see his great and trendy furniture.

Then of course we have Tallulah's boudoir, being on the un-sunny side of the street has its blessings in this weather, it is alway cool and airy- nothing like the sunny side of Cross St!
We have chilled water ready to be sipped and lots of beautiful lingerie to slip into. Don't you find this heat gets you a little frisky? The diaphanous slips are perfect to slip into after a hard day at work, and this one from Marjolaine matched with an Ivory Pearl Thong.....need i say anymore?

Or this beautiful Shell Belle Silk and Lace slip, not as sheer, a different look all together- Imagine with the top of your suspender belt just peeping through the lace and the side of the stocking dipping at the side....
