Festival ready...

For those of you who are off to Glastonbury this weekend for some fun and mud wrestling, Good Luck! As much as I love the idea of going along- 1) i really do not do camping, no not even glamping it really is not me and 2) what if I do not like all the music going on- lets face it and if I'm honest I often have not heard of half the acts on some of the stages...
I like the idea of living a simple and chilled life for the weekend, lots of love flowing- or am I thinking of going to festival back in the 60s when there really was lots of love going around (along with lots of other things)!

By some miracle if Glasto did manage to entice me, for sure I would be taking the festival uniform of my beloved kimono, denim cut offs and white 'delicate' Hanro vest.

And of course i would have flowers in my hair- maybe a handmade daisy chain, keeping the flower power going strong with braids too.

I mean if the weather holds off- "Please golden ball in the sky that we have been teased with today stay!" Im sure is what everyone is thinking if your at the festival this weekend or not- and if your not (like me) then maybe a lovely mini break away to the coast is in order? Recently I rented a wonderful cottage in Norfolk, Shouldham to be exact. It wasn't quite coastal (20 min drive) but it was truly idilic. In the village was a pub run by the locals and served gorgeous homemade food and a B&B 'The Chalk and Cheese' that served evening meals, the particular night i visited was 'pizza night', not super sexy, but delicious all the same.
Or if like me you are working (I'm pulling a sad face) then maybe some weekend shopping is in order!
Fun and sexy bright silk, lace, cottons and tulles- perfect to slip into on a hot and sultry summer evening whilst sipping your Pimms and sucking on the strawberries at the bottom of your glass (not eating pizza) but some wonderful Spanish tapas or Italian antipasti - mmmm yum yum, come on weekend, hurry up already!

What ever you have planned for this coming weekend, May you have a fully loved up and fun few days doing so.

Until next time,
T x

Lovers love the Summer solstice...

And it's here again, the longest & most dreamy day of the year- Midsummers Day.
The celebrations begin on the Summer solstice Friday 19th June and finish Saturday 20th June-Midsummers Day. Originating in ancient folk traditions, Midsummer's Day marks the beginning of the season for rolling in the hay, well hay making season at least, sorry I'm just putting my own sexy spin on it! Summer is nearly here.

Its believed that young and old lovers wander through the forest looking for a lucky fern flower. According to the myth, this flower blooms for a very short time on the eve of the Summer solstice. The flower brings fortune and luck to the special person who finds it-hense it being called a lucky fern flower. Some even believe it brings the ability to understand and speak to the forest animals. Although if a flower is found it is always closely guarded by 'evil spirits'  and according to the myth whomever finds and picks the flower will have access to earthly riches, which have never benefited anyone (this could be make-believe don't forget!) So a tough decision is to be made, pick it or leave it alone....hhmmmmm what would you do?

To celebrate, Tallulah is inviting you to the boudoir for drinks, chats and sexy lingerie shopping.
Summer solstice - Midsummer's Day
11 am - 6 pm

And let Tallulah introduce you to this beautiful new collection from our beloved Aubade...

Until this Friday 19 to Saturday 20th June enjoy the ......Golden Ball in the sky.

It's all in the details and accessories are everything...

When getting ready for the day ahead of me, the first thing to choose is my lingerie, the under garments dictate everything jewellery, shoes, scent even my mood and of course clothes on top.

Its not just lingerie that gets Tallulah excited, although one must surrender to this submission-the beautiful soft silk tulle or delicate and intricate handmade laces....I could go on and on..... But also its about the accessories, from my delicate and eclectic rose & yellow gold and silver jewellery collection, which yes it does get mixed together, I like mix-matching my jewellery, something I would never dream about doing with my lingerie-EVER and realise this is somewhat controversial, its said all the time, do not mix metals....Blah Blah! Sometimes, just sometimes rules were made to be broken! I love a mixed stack and here are some of my favourites from Catbird in New York, Annoushka in Liberty's and of course our neighbour at the top of Cross St, Dinny Hall. Love  passing her beautiful jewelled windows every day on my way to the Boudoir something always twinkles at me!

Shoes too, from shoes like my chunky heeled brogues that I know not everyone likes (you know who you are D) all styles and eras of shoes that finish my lingerie outfits I love too. Im talking sexy but comfortable (just like ones lingerie should be) shoes, In particular I love Emmy shoes for my more feminine and pretty outfits and lucky for me she is just a wink away!
Shades of soft Mink Suede trimmed in decedent Rose Gold Leather don't just have to be for a Bride-To-Be and they go perfectly with my every day 'nude' lingerie from Stella McCartney in blush silk and lace, really putting a spring in my step, and equally looking gorgeous and finishing off my more boudoir outfits like the beautiful Shell Belle 'Cocktail Party' collection. Pictured below is my favourite silk blush set from Stella with Emmys Francesca shoe both displayed perfectly in the boudoir.

My final accessory is of course Perfume, something I finish every outfit off with and depending on my mood and lingerie outfit determines what will be spritzed liberally on top and on my pulse points. Personally it's the intimate and masculine smells of Vetiver, Sandalwood, Leather and Incense that I douse myself in. One of my top scents this month is quite a heady and really rather hypnotic scent from Comme des Garcons, simply named; Monocle Scent One; Hinoki. Below it is pictured with my beloved Shell Belle Vintage lace slip, A trail was being left.....

And here is a taster of my Perfume collection- do you have a favourite or know of a scent you think I would like? Care to share ?

So now you know a little more about Tallulah, my love of accessories and how alot of attention gets paid to them all, but every day it will always starts with the Lingerie.

Finally it feels like Summer in the City!

And on Cross Street we are loving it. The windows in our neighbour Wild Swans are filled with beautifully printed & well cut summer collections, Aesop have a big display in the window launching their new sunscreen- I'm particularly loving the body oils from them at the moment, I'm yet to try the sunscreen, but I'm sure it will be great, love the scents of all the Aesop products- sometimes one can smell them wafting in from across the street into the boudoir.
The newbie on Cross Street, Lost Property have gorgeous hand made leather bags in great summer colours, i love the Coral and Blush leather totes, perfect for 'hot' weekend get aways!

The bright colours woven together wink at me continuously from Tribe opposite, the most amazing hand woven rugs can be found here, also fantastic collections of handmade cushions in the windows in super summer colours and aztec prints.

Im also loving the ethnic prints in Fenton down on Shillingford St, (who by the way is the best Tailor in town, he does all Tallulah's alterations to perfection).

The delis are serving iced-coffees, smoothies and interestingly yummy salads.

We also have a special guest this weekend, Tom Dixon has a pop-up showroom, very excited to see his great and trendy furniture.

Then of course we have Tallulah's boudoir, being on the un-sunny side of the street has its blessings in this weather, it is alway cool and airy- nothing like the sunny side of Cross St!
We have chilled water ready to be sipped and lots of beautiful lingerie to slip into. Don't you find this heat gets you a little frisky? The diaphanous slips are perfect to slip into after a hard day at work, and this one from Marjolaine matched with an Ivory Pearl Thong.....need i say anymore?

Or this beautiful Shell Belle Silk and Lace slip, not as sheer, a different look all together- Imagine with the top of your suspender belt just peeping through the lace and the side of the stocking dipping at the side....

Which ever 'hot' look is your (or your partners) preference, be sure to swing by Tallulah over the weekend to explore more, if you are unable to visit the boudoir, our Pearl Thongs are available on our online boutique www.tallulah-lingerie.co.uk every girl needs some Pearls-wink wink!

Enjoy the sexy sun, T x
